Infant and Child CPR
Have you recently had a baby? Do you ever watch a friend or family members children? Are you prepared to take action if something happened while they are in your care? Can you, with confidence and security, know that you have the skills you need to respond and help that child with the illness or injury they are experiencing? At your Mt. Baker County Chapter we have classes that teach you how to respond to those emergencies and how to take care of situations that are special to children. Our four-hour Infant and Child CPR class will give you all the skills you need to walk away knowing you can provide the safest care possible for any child within your care. The Red Cross defines Infant CPR as covering children from 0-1 years of age, and Child CPR covers children from 1 thru 8 years of age. Over 8 years old is considered an adult by Red Cross standards. Babysitting Course
We also have a great 8 hour babysitting course that teaches 11 thru 15 year olds Babysitting skills. They will learn how to change a diaper, feeding, activities for all ages of children, how to handle stressful situations, rescue breathing, basic first aid, and a lot of other fun skills. Wilderness First Responder
This course is an information intensive, eighty-hour course, which is geared to serve both, committed outdoor enthusiast and professional rescuers with job related duties to act in emergencies. This course covers the following subjects:
American Red Cross CPR and AED for the Professional Rescuer Preventing Disease Transmission and Blood-borne Pathogens Oxygen Administration Advanced First Aid when EMS is not immediately available Improvised Pre-hospital Wilderness Emergency Care Proactive First Aid and Leadership
The course meets all USDOT standards for First Responder and Wilderness First Responder (WFR). CPR certification is good for one year and is renewable. WFR certification is good for three years and is renewable.
